Open Text
Corp. (NASDAQ: OTEXF) today announced it passed the half-million user
mark worldwide with its Livelink intranet product.
The number of Livelink seats increased eightfold, from 60,000 users one
year ago, when IDC Corp. rated Open Text the market leader in Web-enabled
document management.
These results also corroborate a recent report by the Delphi Group, naming
Open Text the market growth leader in collaborative knowledge management
software.
“Open Text has succeeded at spinning the Web to meet customer needs in a
number of key business critical application areas,” according to Mark
Levitt, Research Manager, Collaborative and Intranet Computing, International Data Corp.
“With the help of partnerships and acquisitions, 0pen Text has become well
positioned to compete against entrenched vendors in the document management
and collaboration markets.”
Recent Open Text wins have included new accounts as well as existing
customers expanding their implementations of Livelink across the enterprise.
They span a number of vertical markets around the globe and include such
organizations as Qualcomm Inc., TRW, Newbridge Networks, Nissan Finance,
Provident Financial, TransCanada Pipelines, and Motorola, among hundreds of
others.
With the recent acquisition of OnTime enterprise group scheduling
software–currently being integrated with Livelink–the total Open Text
installed base now exceeds 1.2 million users.
