Web and intranet developer SurfMap Inc. Monday released the beta
version of its Portal Author, a tool enabling smaller size corporations to organize and manage information in an intranet site.

Designed for small-to-mid size businesses and departmental applications, Portal Author centralizes corporate information at a single portal. The portal includes a simplified search and news bulletin features. Site administrators also have access to a range of design elements.

“Offering site administrators an authoring tool like Portal Author is a practical and immediate solution for the organization of corporate information, dramatically improving an organization’s ability to communicate company-wide,” said Joe Greene, Director, Telecom and Internet Research, International Data Corp. (Canada) Ltd.

“SurfMap is targeting these companies that may otherwise be overlooked by vendors focusing on high-end, platform-based solutions,” said Robin Hopper, president of SurfMap.
