About.com Lands on Netscape Search

Internet guide About.com, Inc. Wednesday signed a deal with Netscape Communications to be one of Netscape’s premier search providers.

Under the terms of the agreement, Netscape will feature About.com as a premier search provider on its Net Search page. About.com will also be included as an automatic bookmark on the latest
version of Netscape’s Communicator e-mail and browser software suite.

Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.

“(The agreement) it will be an extremely efficient venue in which new audiences can experience our highly
targeted content, directory and commerce features,” said Scott Kurnit, About.com’s chairman and chief executive officer.

“In addition, consumers have the opportunity to find relevant information and an expert human guide, across our 650 topic-specific sites. We look forward to working with Netscape to provide their users with a superior and relevant online experience.”
