Financial firm MarketXT Inc. Wednesday launched its alternative tradings system (ATS), a tool designed for brokerages looking to provide after-hours trading.
ATS allows brokerages to provide after-hours trading and resources to individual investors. Individuals can invest in 200 actively-traded Nasdaq and NYSE stocks during 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Eastern Monday through Thursday. Features include real-time price quotes, full order book access and the ability to track individual orders in the marketplace, the firm said.
MarketXT said it currently provides ATS through partners Discover Brokerage and Dreyfus Brokerage Services, with other leading brokerage firms expected to be added shortly.
“We are now very proud to have established a trading environment that addresses regulatory and
market issues while providing the best extended-hours opportunities to our
partners and their customers,” said Michael Sanderson, CEO and chairman of MarketXT.
Wednesday’s launch comes as many brokerages, both online and off have started offering after hours trading. Last week E*Trade announced that it will soon begin after-hours services, joining Datek, Muriel Siebert & Co., DLJdirect and J.B. Oxford in offering similar services.
