Advanced Internet Solutions (AIS) is now shipping its
Carello shopping cart solution.

According to the company, the product allows anyone with basic HTML skills
to create professional-level online shopping malls. Installing Carello onto
NT Internet server may need a Webmaster’s skills, but
with that completed, all the catalog creation and maintenance are via a Web
browser and whatever HTML tools the user prefers.

Based on technology from Pacific Software Publishing, Carello streamlines
catalog creation, supports secure order transactions and enables the user to
make online changes to product descriptions and pricing. It is aimed at what
the vendor calls “Web-savvy business owners” who need professional
e-commerce sites but who are currently hindered by the limited numbers and
high salaries of professional developers.

“I watched Internet developers use the pre-Carello raw components to create
very powerful eTailing sites,” said AIS president Richard Stratton. “As a
non-developer it was always frustrating to sit and wait for anybody else
(ie. programmers) to build catalogs and perform routine maintenance tasks.
With
Carello I can build my own simple catalog within a matter of hours and then
maintain it using a browser.”

Carello (Italian for “cart”) retails at a cost of $295 per
online catalog license.
