AOL E-Mail on More Handhelds

SONICblue’s Diamond Mako handheld
will have built-in access to America Online’s (AOL’s)
e-mail and instant messaging services, the
companies announced Monday.

The move is hardly surprising since AOL and U.K.
handheld vendor Psion recently made a similar
announcement for Psion’s handhelds. The Mako is a
re-branded version of Psion’s Revo handheld.

Under the agreement, SONICblue will include AOL
software in the retail packages of the Diamond
Mako. In addition, AOL will promote the Diamond
Mako on the AOL service.
