Wireless Knowledge announced Monday its new
Anystyle software for automatically synchronizing
enterprise data on wireless devices.
The company said in a statement that the
product is aimed at extending the capabilities of
its Workstyle Server product, which provides
mobile access to corporate e-mail, calendar and
contact information.
The Anystyle software
extends that functionality to to devices with
offline capabilities, the company said in a
statement.
Specifically, Anystyle automatically synchronizes
data wirelessly whenever the device is within
network coverage. It then stores the data on the
device for offline access. That means users need
not explicitly connect to the Internet or corporate
network.
Initially, the company said Anystyle will be available for Research In
Motion 950 and 957 pagers. It said support for Palm and Pocket PC
devices will follow “soon.” It initially works with Microsoft Exchange 5.5
and 2000 with Lotus Domino support coming later this year, the
company said.
The company provided no pricing information. Wireless Knowledge is a
joint venture of Microsoft and Qualcomm.
