[Vancouver, BRITISH COLUMBIA] Bargoon-hunting Canadians, rejoice! CDNauction.com has just launched the Canadian Internet Auction Community Web site. The site provides the nation’s netizens with an online forum to buy and sell everything from clothing, computers and cigars to real estate and automobiles.

Self-proclaimed as “the classified section of a newspaper – on steroids”, CDNauction is user-friendly, requiring little technical expertise to take part in buying and selling nationwide.

Currently on CDNauction’s online auction block are an HP 800CT Notebook computer for $600 (CDN); a Wayne Gretzky O-Pee-Chee Rookie Card for $950 (CDN); a Timex watch for $45 (CDN); and a Xircom REX 5001 PC-Card organizer with Sync Cradle for $75.00 (CDN).

While there is no charge for listing items for sale or for bidding on items, CDNauction’s user agreement states that the online auction site may, at its discretion, add fees associated with the service.

However, CDNauction isn’t the nation’s only online auction outfit. PolarAuctions.com bills itself as the largest free auction site in Canada. Visitors can post messages to the PolarAuctions message board to let users know what items they are looking for. However, Beanie Baby enthusiasts might be disappointed. A “Beanie Alert” on PolarAuctions.com site warns users that its Beanie Baby category, featuring a whopping 600-1,000 items, has grown too large for its own good and might take too long to access. While CDNauction includes a sub-category for Beanie products under its Toys & Games listing, PolarAuctions boasts over a dozen primary Beanie product listings on its home page.
