Bid.Com’s ASP with MCI WorldCom Expands European Capabilities

[Toronto, CANADA] — Bid.Com International
Inc.
, which provides dynamic pricing solutions, has commissioned
its first international Application Service Provider platform (ASP).
Located in Dublin, Ireland, this development positions Bid.Com to
support clients and partners in staging dynamic pricing events online
throughout Europe.

Jim Moskos, president of Bid.Com Technologies Group reported that the
ASP is located at MCI
WorldCom
‘s Dublin-based Operations Centre, using Hewlett Packard platforms.”

“The installed architecture is highly expandable and is capable of
serving hundreds of thousands of unique site visitors daily,” added
Moskos. “In addition, if ever required, the site can act as a global
back-up for
Bid.Com’s North American operations.”

Jeff Lymburner, president and chief executive officer of Bid.Com
International Inc. said, “By deploying this type of infrastructure, we
have given our European clients access to the type of ‘industrial
strength’ technology required to make dynamic pricing eBusiness a
reality. With this model in place, we will be able to replicate this
success and accelerate deployment in other areas of the world, such as
in the Asia-Pacific market.”

Founded in 1995, Bid.Com offers a suite of online dynamic pricing
solutions for business-to-business and business-to-consumer markets. Its
multiple online transaction methods include fixed price, traditional
auction, real-time declining price auction and reverse auctions.
Partners include GE Capital, Research In Motion, Rogers New Media, and
CapGemini.
