Microsoft’s BizTalk JumpStart Kit launched this week as a free download to assist developers in creating Internet applications that utilize the BizTalk Framework.

Announced earlier this year, the BizTalk framework consists of
a design specification for the creation of XML
schemas to be used in the communication of
information between separate Internet applications.

The kit provides developers with the tools and source
code necessary to make use of the XML schemas
developed for the BizTalk Library. The schemas
themselves, currently numbering over 100 and
contributed to the library by multiple companies, are
also available as a free download from the
BizTalk.org Web site.

In addition to Microsoft, companies steering the BizTalk effort include Boeing, Clarus, and PeopleSoft.
