In a move to tighten its grip as the Internet’s leading securities
provider, Check Point Software
Technologies Ltd. Tuesday created a new company that will bring
security to clients with broadband connectivity.
An extension of the company’s protective strong arm, SofaWare Technologies
will embed security solutions into customer premises equipment such
as cable and digital subscriber line modems to offer clients easy
security solution that does not require additional installation or
configuration. SofaWare’s first product, HomeSecure!, is a residential
Internet security firewall based on Check Point Software’s Stateful
HomeSecure! will later support advanced capabilities such as virtual
private network and bandwidth management. SofaWare also offers
a central, scaleable management tool that enables service providers to
offer a variety of security services to their customers.
