Cidera, Inc. has announced the creation of its Content Services Partner (CSP) program.

The program, which includes charter partners e-Media, Inc. and Speedera Networks, is designed to make available to content providers the range of networks and content delivery services provided by Cidera and its CSP partners. Through this program, Cidera can serve a broader market by offering the services of its partners to meet the Internet media delivery needs of content providers.

The CSP program allows Cidera to be a main point of contact for content providers, and offers them a managed solution for a broader footprint, turnkey content hosting, and content delivery services via satellite. The program extends Cidera’s service portfolio by allowing it to offer the technology and products of its CSP partners, integrated with Cidera’s services and network.

The program offers customized solutions to content providers. Applications include: global load balancing; pay-per-view and other e-commerce functions; digital rights management; and live event production, encoding and hosting for large-audience webcasts such as concerts, speeches, and other events.

“We see this program as a deepening of our relationship with our Content Services Partners,” said Cidera Chief Operating Officer Bob Marggraf. “We’re very happy to have e-Media and Speedera as charter partners, and we look forward to future growth of this program by having additional partners join.”

“Because of our horizontal broadcast platform strategy, Cidera has developed relationships with all of the industry’s leading content service providers, Ram Viswanathan, Cidera’s Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy, said. We are uniquely positioned to serve as the main point of contact for content providers who are looking to access a broader range of technologies.”
