Dialog Wins E-Commerce Contract from U.K. Department of Trade

The Dialog Corp. in London announced it’s
been
awarded a contract to build an online export sales lead service for the U.K.’s
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Details of the contract were announced by Barbara Roche, the U.K.’s
Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Small Firms, Trade and Industry, at
the “Helping Smaller Companies to Export” event in London.

Dialog will act as the primary contractor for the service for the next five
years. Financial details were not disclosed.

The site will offer a new service for foreign importers, the U.K.’s Foreign &
Commonwealth Office (FCO) posts, and U.K. exporters offering several
information services online, including a national exporters database,
comprised initially of 60,000 U.K. exporters from ICL’s TradeUK database.

Dialog will work with ICL, the operator of the DTI-supported TradeUK Internet site. The new service will
incorporate an online lead matching service for business opportunities.

The site will also include a database of archived export sales leads for U.K.
companies to search for opportunities abroad. In addition, Dialog will supply
subscribers with additional data relevant to export activity, such as company
news and country information, for which it will receive usage revenues.

Additionally, ICL will develop the TradeUK site as an online center for
e-commerce, promoting U.K. goods and services abroad.

ICL is a European IT systems and services company.
