Excite Launches Career Network

Excite, Inc. is targeting the increasing number of users that are turning to the Internet to conduct job searches with the launch of the Excite Careers Network today, an online career hub for both job seekers and companies.

The Careers Network, which is linked on the Excite home page via “Find a Job,” offers job seekers listings and services including resume posting, job search tips, interviewing insights and links to specialty career-focused Web sites.

The service will also highlight specific types of companies that interest job seekers such as start-up companies that may go public, or more established premier Fortune 500 firms. Excite said the career database is comprised of 140,000 job listings from more than 2,900 companies.

The search and navigation guide is also looking to attract employers to the network by offering additional exposure on WebCrawler, Classifieds2000 and Prodigy, in addition to branding and banner advertising programs. The company said firms can also choose to be featured in network categories such as the “Featured Employer Program,” and “Start-up Central.”

“Careers and employment is a rapidly growing area of the
Internet,” said Joe Kraus, senior vice-president and co-founder of
Excite, Inc. “The launch of this network creates a one-stop-shopping
hub for both job-seekers and companies. Our broad range of services
provides employers of every size with turnkey solutions for Web-
wide recruiting and advertising while giving job seekers useful career
information and exciting job opportunities whether they are looking
for a new job or just need help managing their career.”
