First Tuesday is Coming to Se@ttle

The DemoClub and iStart Ventures have announced that they have joined forces to bring First Tuesday, a worldwide high-tech networking organization, to the Seattle area.

The two organizations will collaborate to generate new and unique forums for start-ups, investors, and others in the high-tech community to network and exchange ideas.

The DemoClub, which has provided selected entrepreneurs with a venue to demonstrate their product to qualified investors on a bi-monthly basis, will continue to have a major impact on the nature of the events.

“First Tuesday will continue to be a selective gathering of Internet startups and local venture capital, organized around a format that’s valuable to both (startups and investors),” says Mark Long, co-founder of DemoClub. “We’re making plans to leverage the global network of First Tuesday meetings by teleconferencing speakers from the more than 90 First Tuesday meetings from Paris to Tokyo.”

iStart Ventures provides early-stage start-ups with capital, resources, and operational expertise to rapidly accelerate their growth and development.

The inaugural First Tuesday event will be held on October 3, 2000 at the EMP.

“We’ll move the event to the Experience Music Project museum – which I’m calling, the Techno Pleasure Palace after touring it for first time this week,” says Long. “The Sky Church – where we’ll meet the first Tuesday of each month – has to be the state of the art in meeting venues. It is an amazing space.”

First Tuesday now holds events in over 85 cities globally, and through the organization, more than US $130 million has been found for start-ups.
