China.com
Corp.
, a unit of China Internet Corp., has introduced a
Chinese-language love channel to its Hongkong.com portal.

With the popularity of various dating sites in Taiwan and China, China.com
hopes that love.hongkong.com will be Hong Kongs most popular online
romance destination.

“With the launch of love.hongkong.com we are very pleased to bring a more
valuable and meaningful Internet experience to the Chinese-language on-line
community,” said Vicky Hung, vice president for Business and Product
Development. “Now more than ever, single people are turning to the Internet
to find love and romance.”

The channel provides message boards, advice columns, interactive games,
e-cards, and popular music.

love.hongkong.com, also offers a
comprehensive online dating service with a member database of over 180,000
people and a free matching service featuring detailed search capabilities
including age, star sign, academic qualifications, and blood type, said company representatives.

“love.hongkong.com offers the opportunity for Chinese Internet users
located anywhere in the world to meet someone online,” said Hung. “In the
future, love.hongkong.com will feature special features from Hong Kong and
international celebrities giving their personal insights and advice on love
and romance.”

The launch of the love channel is consistent with China.com’s plan to drive
younger traffic to its Hong Kong portal.

“Studies have shown that up to 60 percent of the people on the Internet are
single,” said Hung. “In the last several years, the Internet has become a
safe, easy and above all, acceptable, mode of socializing.”

In the future, China.com hopes to bring localized versions of the love
channel to corporation’s other sites, China.com and Taiwan.com.
