Mecklermedia’s Internet Stock Index is up 78% since January. Just when you
thought it couldn’t get any more sizzle, ISDEX gained another 5% this past
week. Who’s on top and not? The 50 stocks sorted by ups and downs follows.
Driving the ardor seems to be a combination of bottom up zeal, momentum
players and those who finally got tired of watching many in this basket of
pure-play Internet stocks climb. A bull market background helps, also,
which leads us to believe that if the inherent risk in some of these
emerges, a burn of another kind could be felt. Bear burn.
While we think that some potential exists in a handful of stocks here to
run up, we’ll save the analysis for reports on who could be waiting for the
go.

we don’t think it’s out of the woods yet. We’ll see where its first quarter
