Inktomi Adds Eight New Search Customers

Inktomi Corp. Thursday announced agreements with eight new companies that plan to incorporate the company’s search platform into their online offerings.

Inktomi has sealed deals with BellSouth, European Internet provider chello broadband n.v., Swiss asset manager ComBus, systems integrator Global DataTel, GoProfit,StarMedia Network, ThundaTech and 4anything.com.

The additions bring Inktomi’s total number of search customers to more than 25 portals on five continents.

“Inktomi is working with some of the most dynamic media companies and startups in the global Internet market,” said Paul Gauthier, Inktomi’s chief technology officer.

“We’ve optimized our private-label offering to blend seamlessly with a wide range of strategies and business models. We believe the combination of Inktomi’s trusted technology with our partners’ targeted and innovative regional content will be compelling.”

Inktomi provides private-label search technology that can be customized to address unique audiences.
