internet.com Launches IT Research Division

internet.com Corp. Monday launched a new division that will publish
IT-specific research reports spanning sectors around the world.

Sharing the same brand of the CyberAtlas.com Web site and e-mail
newsletter (40,000 subscribers), the CyberAtlas Research Division will
showcase studies delivered electronically via PDF files.

The formation of the division is more or less a formality, as there are
already three reports available covering the ISP, Wireless and Linux
markets; a fourth covering the U.S. Backbone Provider market will be
released shortly and will be available here. The CyberAtlas Research
Division will be spearheaded by Pat Fusco, presently serving as managing
editor at internet.com’s ISP-Planet.com.

Alan M. Meckler, chairman and chief executive officer of internet.com Corp.,
said the research division is a natural extension for the publishing
company.

“One might say that this is the third leg to the stool in terms of our
businesses in that we have our online publishing brands featuring
internet.com and EarthWeb, we have our growing seminar business with over 20
offline events that have run or are scheduled this year and now we have the
research division,” Meckler said in a public statement Monday.

Meckler noted that internet.com’s core businesses — online publishing,
offline seminars and research — help sell each other to the roughly 5
million users every month.

In related news, internet.com is changing its corporate name to INT Media
Group Inc. to better reflect the company’s evolving media business.

InternetNews.com is owned and operated by internet.com Corp.
