  • USWeb (NASDAQ:USWB) shares gain 20% to $20.625 per share today on news the turnkey Web presence firm and studio will provide NBC with Web services in a multi-million dollar agreement that includes NBC getting a warrant to acquire 3.8% of USWB. The exact dollar amount is undisclosed. The deal brings together USWeb’s 1,000 professionals in four countries with NBC’s leading TV properties that have a growing Web element. Essentially, USWeb is the studio and NBC brings its shows and creative control to the effort.

  • Network Solutions (NASDAQ:NSOL) teams up with Inc. Online to offer small businesses a simple way to establish Web sites and register them. We think there’s a long way to go in the small business realm, that most of the future Internet use in businesses could be in this space. More than 10 million businesses in the U.S. alone. Most of them not on the Net, yet.
