  • Lycos (NASDAQ:LCOS) may be getting some heat from original Wired founders
    Louis Rossetto and Jane Metcalfe for its recapitalization that affects Wired
    Digital, the Web assets acquired by Lycos in a $83 million stock deal announced
    last year. Founding Wired Digital shareholders are the ones reportedly telling
    news agencies they’re not comfortable with Lycos recap that reduces their
    positions unfavorably in their view.

  • Privately-held idealab-started GoTo.com search engine filed a lawsuit
    against Disney-Infoseek’s (NASDAQ:SEEK) Go.Com for what it says is a similar
    logo look — a traffic light in green and yellow. The last thing either company
    needs is a legal wrangling over logo types.

  • Privately-held startup Stamps.com raised $30 million from Vulcan Ventures,
    Inc., and Chase Capital Partners. we spoke with the founders today and found out
    that the postage market it’s targeting — small businesses — is a $2.5 billion
    per month market. This is Stamps.com’s 3rd round of financing. It was founded in
    1996.
