Interpath Acquires Alta

[Sydney, AUSTRALIA] Application Services Provider (ASP) Alta Internet Business Centres has been acquired by Interpath as part of the U.S. based ASP’s global expansion strategy.

Under terms of the deal, Alta will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Interpath, called Interpath Australia, with the aim of combining technologies, talent and solutions to offer value to customers on a global scale.

“Alta’s Australian customers will benefit from the combination of a successful local capability allied to the strength, stability and global presence of a company like Interpath,” said Alta founder and chief executive officer George Caravias.

Alta was founded three years ago, and today provides application services for large-scale content delivery, e-commerce systems, commercial Web sites, enterprise applications and a range of solutions on a managed service basis.

This year, the company became the first Australian ASP to obtain a Cisco Powered ASP Certification, and last year hosted the Australian Referendum virtual Tally Room, serving more than 1.3 million page views.

“We see great synergies for the two companies,” said Interpath chief executive Joel Schleicher. “Alta’s service offering complements Interpath’s and will enable our organization to continue to provide best-of-class applications and services on a global basis.”
