ISDEX ends the trading day sideways, up a light 0.11%, as the market once again buys into blue chip industrials with the Dow and NASDAQ up. The ISDEX value is 544.23 with a change of+0.11(+0.02%). Today’s snapshot:
AOL (NYSE:AOL) once again taps an entertainment executive to join its ranks. This time it’s former president of Universal Television and MCA’s Robert Harris to the position of Executive Producer, Broadband. I think the appointment is a positive sign that AOL sees the opportunity for broadband and focuses now on the programming side rather than the pipe. As the Bruce Springsteen song says “57 channels and nothing on” — so maybe Harris can bring some programming to AOL’s effort to make it worth tuning into.
InfoSpace.com (NASDAQ:INSP) inks a deal with Cozmoz.com (OTC BB:CMOZ) to provide Cozmoz with private-label
content. One more added to InfoSpace’s large array of content and outlets. INSP looks like a content play across the spectrum.
E*Trade (NASDAQ:EGRP) gets a “buy” from Lehman Bros. Very exciting stuff except I have had EGRP on my list for two months now.
Media Metrix (NASDAQ:MMXI) goes public today selling 3 million shares at the top of the range at $17. MMXI closes up 168% to $45 9/16 per share. The firm provides audience measurement services about the Internet and is one I include in my analysis frequently.
