Juniper Networks Inc. Tuesday moved to bolster its presence in the Asia Pacific market
with the purchase of Pacific Advantage Ltd.
Juniper (JNPR)
will buy the regional sales and marketing company for $4 million in an
all-stock deal.
Juniper expects the acquisition to add sales, consulting and client support
staff to its network of seven offices throughout Asia.
“With the acquisition of Pacific Advantage, Juniper Networks will be able to
increase our sales, service and support
capabilities for regional and local service providers as well as for our
current multinational service provider customers such as Cable & Wireless,
Qwest and UUNet,” said Charles Will, Juniper’s managing director of Asia
Pacific operations.
Juniper has operations in Hong Kong, Beijing, Sydney, Kuala Lumpur, New
Delhi and Tokyo. PAL’s staff will be integrated into the Asia Pacific sales
force.
Last week, PSINet (PSIX)
inked a contract with Juniper to use the M40 Internet backbone router, a new
router which Juniper introduced last month, for its global network.
