lastminute.com Signs UK Hotel Deal

The UK’s top deals site
lastminute.com
has signed a deal with Forte Hotel Group that
will give its users access to 250 Meridien, Posthouse and
Heritage hotels around the world.


lastminute.com says that the deal is
the first of a series intended to position
the site as a world resource for hotel accommodation.


“I am delighted to be able to announce that we have signed
this deal with Forte and we are close to signing Sol Melia
and Thistle, as well as allowing us to deepen our relationships with
these key supply partners,” said Brent Hoberman, co-founder
and managing director of lastminute.com.


Half a million registered customers use lastminute.com to
obtain tickets for shows and travel, as well as for
gifts and auctions. Most customers make their purchase
less than a week in advance — a factor that Forte found
appealing as a source of potential sales.


“In this increasingly competitive environment, we have
to maximise our use of all distribution channels to reach our
customers,” said Michel Madison, worldwide director
of Distribution and Revenue Management, at Forte Hotel Group.


Forte Hotel Group is part of the Granada Group, and is the UKs
largest hotel operator with over 430 hotels in around 50
countries.
