Lawsuit Doesn’t Hurt Fervor for Windows Phone 7

Never let something like a little patent infringement lawsuit get in the way of good business deal. That seems to be the prevailing attitudes of both Microsoft and Motorola.

Executives from both companies said yesterday that they would be willing to work together on a Windows Phone 7 device. However, both companies stressed the deal would have to be compelling.


Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is on a whirlwind tour before next Monday’s launch of Windows Phone 7. Always outspoken, he’s been holding forth on a number of topics.

However, none have been quite as surprising as statements Wednesday in Germany when he said that Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) would not be averse to working with Motorola on Windows Phone 7 devices.
