Madge.web, a Europe-based provider of rich content applications and managed network services for finance and media companies, reports that on June 8, 2000, it plans to officially open the first scalable Internet broadcast network across Europe with full media streaming capabilities.

The Madge Broadcast Network (MBN) is an affiliate network to the Real Broadcast Network in the United States, and
features a broadcast operations and encoding center in Europe utilizing Real Network’s technology.

Madge.web announced that it has successfully completed the final stages of installation and
testing of MBN, which was built as part of the company’s strategic alliance
with Real Networks announced in December 1999.

MBN’s services are
delivered via the company’s Overnet, bypassing the public Internet to more
than 30 countries. Rich content services include virtual private networking, managed hosting, storage, and marketing services, and will soon include workflow management, encoding services and
streaming media distribution.
