Internet market research firm Media Metrix Inc. Tuesday expanded into Australia and New Zealand, signing a joint venture with research firm Australia Market Research Interactive.
The two companies will develop a new Internet audience measurement service for the region.
The venture claims to be the first service to begin actively collecting measurement data in Australia. Preliminary findings are expected to be provided to clients in a few weeks.
David Stewart-Hunter, who was previously the managing director of ACNielsen’s customized research division and formerly the chief executive officer of Saatchi & Saatchi Australia, was named CEO of the Australian and New Zealand operations.
Media Metrix (MMXI) launched its European service in April and has several partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region.
