medibuy.com Acquires PartNET

medibuy.com, a provider of e-commerce
solutions for medical supply procurement, acquired PartNET, a privately held software
developer of e-commerce technology.

Terms were not disclosed.


medibuy.com said the acquisition will allow it to deliver real-time
customized pricing solutions to buyers and sellers of healthcare supplies and
equipment around the world.


PartNET’s scaleable e-commerce technology assembles catalog information from
multiple suppliers anywhere on the Internet into a single, unified virtual
catalog tailored to the customer’s buying needs.

This instant-catalog technology — called “InstaCat” technology — will be
implemented across medibuy.com’s entire e-commerce solution set, including
eCatalog, eRFP, and eAuction.

“PartNET’s leading-edge catalog software will enable medibuy.com to further
automate key functions of the healthcare procurement process and speed the
workflow of healthcare buyers and sellers,” said Dennis Murphy, CEO of
medibuy.com.

“The addition of PartNET’s InstaCat technology provides a
technological advantage over other procurement services and transforms the
way medical equipment and supplies are bought and sold, bringing this
industry into the next millennium. ”


After the acquisition, of PartNET will remain in Salt Lake City and CEO Don
Brown, will serve as president . PartNET customers include the U.S.
Department of Defense,
Newark Electronics and Humana.
