    NEW YORK, April 13–MP3.com (MPPP)
    , which operates a Web site that lets users download songs over the
    Internet for free, said it is buying the majority stake in
    mp3radio.com from its venture partner Cox Interactive Media. Terms
    of the deal were not disclosed.


    Atlanta-based mp3radio.com, which
    provides localised music information and free music downloads to radio
    stations across the country, is expected to relocate to San Diego to be
    integrated into MP3.com’s operations.

    CHICAGO, April 13–Allscripts (MDRX)
    , the leading provider of electronic prescribing, medication management,
    and physician productivity solutions, announced today the acquisition of
    Medifor, the leader in Internet delivered patient education. The
    transaction is valued at $33 million in stock as of the close of market
    Thursday.


    The merger brings together Allscripts’ electronic prescribing solution at
    the point-of-care, and Medifor’s
    highly innovative software solution that improves patient outcomes through
    dissemination of customized instructions, illustrations, and personalized
    patient education material at the point-of-care and over the Internet.

    SEATTLE, April 13–The online mall ShopNow.com (SPNW)
    said Thursday it acquired Freemerchant.com, an e-commerce
    technology and application service provider that offers e-commerce products
    and services to small and medium size businesses, for $34 million in stock
    and cash. ShopNow.com said the deal will enable it to add Freemerchant.com’s Network of over
    65,000 businesses to the 600,000 businesses in its b2bNow Network, 50,000
    merchants in its ShopNow network and 2,400 commerce-enabled sites in its
    BottomDollar Network. Under the terms of the agreement, ShopNow.com will
    acquire Freemerchant.com for about $34 million, including $32 million in
    ShopNow.com common stock and $2 million in cash.

    SAN MATEO, April 13–iManage (IMAN)
    , a leading provider of e-business content and collaboration management
    software and services, today announced it has acquired ThoughtStar,
    a privately-held collaboration software company based in Salt Lake City,
    Utah, for $18.5 million in common stock and cash.


    iManage will pay $4.5 million in cash and approximately $14 million in
    common stock to ThoughtStar,
    subject to a minimum of 444,242 shares and a maximum of 1,096,923 shares.
    The acquisition is expected to close in the second quarter of 2000.

    NEW DELHI, April 13–U.S.-based Citrix Systems (CTXS)
    , a software and services company that caters to large computer networks,
    said on Thursday that it planned to acquire Indian Internet solution and
    services firm PowerTel BOCA Ltd subject to the Indian government’s
    approval. The statement did not give financial details. A spokeswoman for
    Citrix said Bangalore-based PowerTel
    BOCA
    will become a wholly-owned Citrix subsidiary and will provide
    Citrix with a network of established offices throughout India.
