    agreed to acquire Joey Technologies, a strategic research and
    development organization specializing in access software for the handheld
    mobile market. Extending JetForm’s
    commitment to delivering solutions to the mobile workforce, this agreement
    will integrate Joey Technologies
    research and development expertise into JetForm’s e-forms business group.
    The purchase price for the transaction is less than $1 million, paid

    CHICAGO, Nov. 7–SPSS , a provider of
    analytical customer relationship management (CRM) solutions, signed an
    agreement to purchase ShowCase Corp. , a provider
    of enterprise intelligence solutions. SPSS officials cite ShowCase’s sales channel, professional
    services expertise, business intelligence technology, middle market
    customer base and complementary organization as reasons for the
    acquisition. SPSS will issue one of its shares for every three shares of
    ShowCase common stock, valuing the transaction at approximately $94
    million.

    SAN JOSE, Nov. 7–Pumatech , a provider of
    software infrastructure for the mobile Internet, announced that it has
    signed and closed an agreement to acquire certain assets of SwiftTouch
    Corporation
    of Bedford, Mass. The acquisition of SwiftTouch, a provider of Web-based
    Universal Access solutions, will extend the capabilities of Pumatech’s Intellisync.com service
    bureau by providing subscribers with access to their information via
    WAP-enabled phones or by voice. Under the terms of the agreement, Pumatech
    will pay $3

    20,000 in cash and issue 100,000 shares of Pumatech common
