    SANTA CLARA, Aug. 1–Terayon Communication Systems , a supplier of broadband network systems, announced a
    definitive agreement to acquire Mainsail Networks for 3.2 million
    shares of Terayon common stock. Based in Fremont, California, Mainsail Networks is a privately held
    company that designs, develops and markets, adding to Terayon’s broadband portfolio,
    representing its expansion in the access infrastructure and optical

    CLEVELAND, Aug. 1–Penton Media announced
    its acquisition of Meko Ltd. of Surrey, UK, a provider of
    newsletters, comprehensive market studies, and custom information services
    for the European computer display market. Meko will operate in conjunction with
    Penton’s Jon Peddie Associates in Mill
    Valley, CA, the leading market research firm covering the digital media,
    convergence, software and workstation graphics markets. Terms of the

    SAN JOSE, Aug. 1–Cisco Systems announced
    a definitive agreement to acquire privately-held IPmobile of
    Richardson, Texas, a provider of software systems that enable service
    providers to build the next generation IP-based wireless infrastructure
    known as third generation or `3G’ networks, in a stock deal worth
    approximately $425 million. IPmobile’s technology strengthens Cisco’s leadership as a network solutions
    provider in this emerging Mobile Wireless Internet.

    Mapas y Datos and its subsidiary Mapas Latinos, both of
    Bogota, Colombia. Mapas y Datos services multi-national corporations and
    governmental agencies with a variety of software applications using
    geographic information systems, global positioning systems, and other
    Internet-based technologies, and operates through a joint venture with
    Inverlink, the Columbian affiliate of Credit Suisse First Boston, Mapas Latinos, a Spanish language
    Internet mapping portal. These acquisitions position Anything Internet as a leading
    Spanish-speaking marketplace in the field of location services.
