[Sydney, AUSTRALIA] Mobile software developer Entellect Solutions has signed an exclusive global alliance deal with handset giant Motorola to bundle its Mobile Office product into each WAP-enabled handset sold on the market.
Initially, Motorola and Entellect will work together to provide corporate customers with a wireless solution through the combination of Entellect’s Mobile Office with Motorola’s WAP-enabled handsets, including the recently launched Accompli A6188 which combines mobile and PDA functionality.
‘Mobile Office’ provides anytime, anywhere access to corporate clients MS Outlook and Exchange Server information including e-mail, calendar, contacts, tasks and notes.
Earlier this month, Entellect partnered with Telstra to release the package of WAP applications designed to keep mobile workers in touch with the office. Mobile Office is currently wirelessly enabling up to 1500 Telstra employees with the product for internal use
Meanwhile, Entellect is working closely with Motorola to provide wireless solutions to consulting giant KPMG. Motorola is the only phone company with the rights to sell Mobile Office globally, and has made an investment in the pre-purchase of Mobile Office Licenses with plans to promote the combined solution to large corporate clients looking for wireless office solutions.
With the assistance of Motorola in Taiwan and Singpaore, Entellect has also announced the development of a Chinese version of Mobile Office. Motorola clients in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia are currently piloting both the English and Chinese versions of Mobile Office, along with Motorola in the US.
Entellect joint chief executive officer Justin Martin said corporate organisations could now benefit from useful applications like Mobile Office accessed from any Motorola device in real-time.
“In the near future, thanks to our close development ties with Motorola, we will also provide clients the ability to download critical information to their Motorola handsets without the requirement of cable or infrared synchronization,” Mr. Martin said. “It will be an invaluable tool for those times when you can’t or don’t have a wireless signal.”
