Internet bank Net.B@nk partnered
with giant Yahoo! Inc. Tuesday to offer
Net.B@nk clients the ability to view their accounts on the popular portal.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Yahoo! (YHOO)
users can now view their Net.B@nk (NTBK)
account information on Yahoo!
Finance and My Yahoo!. Net.B@nk
customers who register for the new online service at Yahoo! can view their
Net.B@nk checking, CD and money market account balances, as well as their
transaction history, any time they visit the designated sites. Account
information is updated daily and users may choose which Net.B@nk accounts
they prefer to view.
Net.B@nk customers can also conduct transactions via a link from Yahoo! to
their Net.B@nk accounts. Once logged in, Net.B@nk customers can pay bills
online, transfer funds between accounts. Clients may also apply for home
equity loans and lines of credit, online brokerage accounts, credit cards
and home mortgages. All transactions will be conducted on the Net.B@nk Web
site.
The agreement also provides a comfortable level of security as Net.B@nk and
Yahoo! both employ the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security standard that is
widely used by popular Internet browsers and merchants transacting on the
Web. Yahoo! has also implemented a security key, which users will be
prompted to verify to access their Net.B@nk account balances or transaction
information.
“Providing our registered users with access to their personal banking
information on Yahoo! is a tremendous benefit, as it gives users the
ultimate convenience and flexibility when it comes to managing their
finances online,” said Tim Brady, Yahoo’s senior vice president of network services.
