Network Solutions Introduces “RegistrationPlus”

Domain name registration leader Network
Solutions, Inc.
officially unveiled RegistrationPlus today, a
service designed to enable small businesses and individuals to register or
reserve a domain name in real-time.

The first offering of Network Solutions’ WorldNIC Services, RegistrationPlus’
five-step registration process aims to remove the technical barriers
involved in securing a domain name.

Network Solutions reports that the service checks the availability of
domain names within 20 seconds and automatically delivers alternative names
if the customer’s first choice is already taken.

The company says it is accepting online payments from five major credit
cards, and a password is issued upon registration to enable users to change
registration account information whenever they choose.

According to Network Solutions, its test groups reveal that registrations
take less than 90 seconds to complete, with newly registered names
activated on the Internet within 24 hours.

“In five years, the Internet will carry most business and personal
transactions. Yet today Dun & Bradstreet estimates that 60 percent of small
businesses are not using the Internet,” said Gabe Battista, chief executive
officer, Network Solutions, in a statement. “With WorldNIC we are making a
compelling case for small businesses to adopt the Internet and enjoy a
level playing field.”

In related news today, Network Solutions also announced partnerships with
Dun & Bradstreet and Inc. Online to develop and market a range of new
products and services.
