JourneyPlan Ltd introduced its JourneyPlan UK travel planning software with a launch offer that makes it free for the remaining summer timetable period.
JourneyPlan combines data on air and rail services, helping users to plan any journey in the UK, with travel times, transfer details, and optimum routes, the firm said.
The program is made to provide airport and station information, plus telephone numbers for airlines, rail service operators, car hire companies, and other services. To use it, the intending traveller simply enters departure and arrival points, together with the date and preferred time of travel–and the options are displayed on the screen within seconds. When the data changes, the information will be readily available on the vendor’s Web site.
JourneyPlan has been compiled in Scotland using software developed by Dr. Eduard Tulp in The Netherlands. Versions of the software are already being used by the Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish and Finnish railways, and by the Dutch National Public Transport Enquiry Service, the company stated. All the data, said the vendor, has been extensively tested by expert transport users.
A single-user annual subscription to JourneyPlan costs GBP85, the company said. It is available for Microsoft Windows 3.1, 3.11, 95, and NT.
Companies that require a network version of JourneyPlan should contact the vendor’s corporate sales office on: (0131) 473 2380 for a quotation.
