Australian portal player ninemsn.com.au has announced that its
online suite of services for small businesses, ninemsn LinkExchange, has partnered with
several major companies in a move to help small businesses succeed on the
Internet.

The localised version of LinkExchange has teamed up with Telstra, AltaVista
Australia, Yellow Pages Online and NetNames to bring Web marketing tools and
e-business solutions to Australian small businesses and Web site owners to
increase online traffic and sales.

Steve Vamos, ninemsn’s CEO, said the company’s aim is “to duplicate the
success that
has been experienced in the United States helping small businesses succeed
on the Web by providing them with tools and services to find new customers
and increase their sales.”

In addition to Internet access and Web hosting services, ninemsn
LinkExchange is also offering a number of other products from its suite of
services including BannerNetwork, a service which enables Web site owners to
build traffic by showing banner ads on their site in exchange for placing
ads on other network sites. The ninemsn LinkExchange banner network
currently spans more than 400,000 sites.

Other products include AdStore, where small businesses can purchase
affordable advertising on some of the leading sites on the Web, including
Excite, Yahoo!, ninemsn, AltaVista Australia, Yellow Pages Online, as well
as the LinkExchange network.

NetNames will provide site registration allowing new companies to establish
their brand identity online by customising and registering a domain name.
