Sony Wins Top Honor for Australian Internet Advertising

The winners of the
1999 Australian Internet Advertising Awwwards were announced late Thursday,
with Sony and Fairfax Online taking several top honors.

The top award for most creative online marketing strategy was won by Sony
for its ad campaign for Ape Escape, a new Playstation game. Quicken.com.au
and Ebet Online ranked as finalists.

Fairfax Online won the Click-And-Win award for a specific offer-oriented
online campaign, with Excite Australia and Nestlé Confectionery Ltd
also mentioned.

Sony also grabbed the award for one-to-one marketing campaigns, with ANZ
recognized for two separate campaigns.

Macquarie won the Whiz Bang award for innovative Internet marketing, with
mentions going to Intel Australia and Dell Computers. Kellogg Australia Pty
Ltd took honors for the its mixed off- and online media campaign, with
Fairfax and Hutchinson Telecom following as finalists.
