Sports Brief

Update:

Bellevue-based Onyx Software, a provider of customer-centric e-business applications, today announced that the Seattle Mariners will standardize all customer-facing operations on Onyx 2000.

The Mariners franchise will use Onyx Employee Portal, Onyx’s thin client customer relationship management (CRM)portal for internal employees, to automate season ticket sales, suite sales and corporate sponsorships, and to conduct targeted marketing campaigns and customer tracking and analysis.

Onyx’s Customer Portal will be used by the Mariners for lead generation and to enable Web-based customer self help, service and support.

FANSonly Network Teams Up With H2F

Student Advantage’ FANSonly Network, a publisher of collegiate sports web sites for over 80 Division 1 schools and sports conferences has signed an agreement with H2F Media Inc., a Portland, Oregon-ased provider of instant video publishing services.

Under the terms of the agreement FANSonly will use H2F’ Instant Video Publisher services to publish weekly video interviews with coaches and players on select FANSonly sites.

FANSonly is utilizing H2F’ Instant Video Publisher for Notre Dame and Oregon State’ official athletic sites during the 2000 football season, with plans to extend the service to other schools for the 2000-2001 basketball season.

Using H2F’s technology, players and coaches will create weekly video webcasts for their fans and then publish them on the team’s fan websites

“Adding weekly video interviews adds to the quality of FANSonly’s content offering,” says Neil Marshall, VP of Business Development at H2F Media. “Fans are more engaged, so we believe they will remain on the site longer. Plus, H2F’s Instant Video Publisher inserts ecommerce links and ads into the videos automatically, so we’re not only enabling a new channel of communication between teams and fans, we’re creating another piece of advertising inventory on participating FANSonly sites.”
