Styleclick.com Expands Into Asia

Merchandising, sales, and services operation Styleclick.com said it will
replicate its flagship e-commerce site for the Japanese market via a services
and licensing agreement
with Styleclick-JP Inc., an Internet service provider in Japan.


Styleclick.com said it will assist Styleclick-JP in building and managing the
new site, receiving up-front development fees valued at approximately $1.4
million. Styleclick.com Inc. also will receive ongoing revenues via an
unspecified percentage of at the new Web site.


“Styleclick-JP is able to provide us with important local expertise to enable
effective e-commerce services internationally,” said Maurizio Vecchione,
Styleclick.com’s president and co-chief executive officer. “Japan is the
ideal market for us to begin global expansion.”


The new Japanese site is expected to launch in March.


Styleclick.com provides retailers and manufacturers with comprehensive
e-commerce
services and offers consumers an enhanced online shopping experience.
Styleclick.com and USA Networks recently announced their intent to form a new
company by merging
Styleclick.com and USA’s Internet Shopping Network.


The new company, Styleclick Inc., is expected to launch as an Internet-based
merchandising, sales and services organization providing retail opportunities
to consumers and third-party retail services to businesses.
