Telcos Ally for VoIP Deployment

[Sydney, AUSTRALIA] Telecommunications software company Open Telecommunications has formed a
partnership with Packer-backed technology group Consolidated Futuristic
Solutions (Cofuture) to pursue global telecommunications and technology
ventures.

Cofuture, an international software and services company jointly owned by
Consolidated Press Holdings and Indian multinational Himachal Futuristic
Communications, will become OT’s technology partner of choice for network
service delivery, providing integration services on OT projects such as the
COMindico Australian VoIP deployment.

Cofuture will also be appointed as a distributor of OT software products.
The pair’s first joint initiative will be a pilot installation and testing
of Open Telecommunications openCallAgent product at the Infotelconnect
Network in the state of Punjab, India. This network (a $500M fibre optic
based backbone), will be used to provide telecommunications services to the
50 million population base in that state. The implementation services will
be
provided jointly by Open Telecommunications and Cofuture personnel.

“The relationship addresses several of the key business issues for us, which
includes solving a significant shortage in qualified resources our industry
is
facing,” said Wayne Passlow, managing director of Open Telecommunications.
“Cofuture’s excellent software development capability will complement
our own development activities where we can accelerate new products
being brought to the market together,” he said.
