Thomson Financial Services (TFC) announced today that its
Financial Publishing unit acquired EDI
World Inc., publisher of Electronic
Commerce World
magazine and organizer of Electronic Commerce World
conferences, for an undisclosed amount.

Thomson Financial Publishing, a provider of communications, reference, payments, and compliance information on global financial institutions, said the acquisition will supplement its new division, Thomson EC Resources, which helps companies implement and use EDI and electronic commerce technologies.

Electronic Commerce World is aimed at an audience of corporate executives focusing on the use of electronic commerce technologies, including AIDC, EDI, the Internet, security, workflow, imaging, and Financial EDI.

EC World also hosts an annual conference and exhibit, Electronic Commerce World, showcasing the latest EC technologies and strategies to be used in businesses.

“Electronic Commerce World is an exciting acquisition for us and an excellent fit with our other database, education and research products focused on helping electronic commerce professionals expand their EDI and electronic
commerce initiatives,” said Emmett Dages, executive vice president of Thomson Financial Publishing, in a statement.
