[Concord, CANADA] Unique Broadband
Systems (UBS), a broadband wireless solutions provider, has inked
a multi-year supply contract with Bell
Canada to provide equipment for use in the delivery of high-speed
wireless Internet access to institutional customers.
Under the deal, which has a projected value of $3.9 million, UBS
will supply Bell Canada with wireless transport equipment, as well as
training and maintenance services.
The new contract extends the relationship between the two companies.
Last year, UBS delivered wireless equipment to Bell that helps
provide a link to rural customer sites that were beyond the reach of
high-speed wireline access. UBS supplied bi-directional wireless
transport equipment, linking various Bell point-to-multipoint radio
sites providing wireless broadband access.
“We were very pleased with the technology UBS supplied us last year,”
said Clayton Mangione, Director of Technology Development, Bell
Canada. “UBS has shown it can deliver the technology and the
expertise that we need for this wireless Internet project.”
“The combination of our wireline services and UBS’ broadband wireless
solution will enable us to deliver high quality high-speed wireless
access to our customers,” he said.
