Wall Data introduced Rumba, Cyberprise Edition, a product that includes both Rumba legacy-access software and the Cyberprise
Host Web-to-host solution.

Customers can choose any combination of access
technologies and find a secure path from a LAN/WAN environment to what
the vendor calls “the Web-powered enterprise.”

“What we have found is that our
customers want to move their legacy applications to web-based solutions in
stages,” said John Wall, CEO of Wall Data. “With this new product, they no longer have to be concerned whether a business user is Web-enabled or not. With Rumba, Cyberprise Edition, we
have provided the flexibility to implement traditional host connectivity solutions
or Web-based solutions at their own pace.”

Because Rumba, Cyberprise Edition includes licenses for both products, the firm said
organizations can convert Rumba desktops to Cyberprise Host whenever it is
convenient for them.

Rumba software is built as a set of ActiveX controls that are designed to
enable users to tailor the product to meet their host access needs. Its features
include: connectivity support for over 40 different connectivity protocols,
host-screen bookmarking, print management of mainframe and AS/400 print
jobs, a News Reader, and comprehensive file transfer facilities.

Rumba, Cyberprise Edition is scheduled for availability in October 1998, direct from the
vendor and via a global network of distributors and resellers. The suggested
list price is $500.
