XOOM, Inc. Plans IPO

XOOM, Inc. today announced that it filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission relating to a proposed initial public offering of all its common stock.


XOOM is an online direct marketing company that also offers a community
site with a variety of free services for its members, including homepages,
e-mail, chat rooms, clip art and software libraries and
online greeting cards.


Xoom’s IPO is highly anticipated following fellow community site GeoCities’
recent success, according to a recent edition of the Internet Stock Report.


The managing underwriters of the offering are Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc. and
Dain Rauscher Wessels. Neither prices nor offering date were disclosed.
