Reacting to customer demand for instant-messaging capability, Yahoo! is introducing Yahoo! Pager, which will alert users when friends and colleagues come online and allow them to chat with each other in real time.
The pager feature will be integrated throughout Yahoo!’s online properties and also available at http://pager.yahoo.com. The new feature will utilize the same free-registration and password process as Yahoo!’s other communications tools, which include e-mail and message boards.
Yahoo! Pager will let also let users block messages from specified people
and create in-depth personal profiles.
