San Francisco-based Adauction.com
said it has added 12 new Web publishers and 15 media buyers for its March
19 online auction.
The company said it plans to offer three new content
categories–entertainment, Women’s Interests, and Sports.
“Going into our first auction, the goal was to fulfill a critical market need
to increase our publishing partners’ CPM and simplify online media buying,”
said David Wamsley, founder, president and CEO of Adauction.com. “We exceeded
our expectations, and we’re continuing to carefully discriminate each new
site’s potential value to consistently offer quality ad inventory.”
New Web publishers in the Entertainment category include the National
Enquirer and America’s Most Wanted. Imagine Media’s edgy new network
of female sites, ChickClick, as well as the TheKiss.com represent new
Women’s interest sites, while Dolphin Endzone (the NFL’s Miami Dolphins) is
in the Sports section. Other publishers include eBay and Electric Library
(E-Commerce); The Raging Bull (Financing/Investing); Jumbo, Mac News
Network, and Topsoft (Computers); as well as Headspace (Music); and Future
Pages (College).
Additions on the media buy side include Modem Media, Western International
New Media, and Starwave. Visit the site’s Ad Space
section for a list of all
participants.
For the March 19 event, Adauction.com said it expects to provide about 50
million ad impressions and engage 60 online publishers and 50 media
buyers.
In the inaugural Feb. 19 auction, all available inventory in the
Finance/Investing, Travel, College, and Ethnic Interests categories sold out
and nearly 11.5 million of the 14 million ad impressions offered were sold.
