ADP, Gannett Launch High-Tech Ad System for Auto Dealerships

The Dealer Service Group of Automatic Data Processing Inc. (ADP) and Gannett Media Technologies International
(GMTI), the software development unit of Gannett Inc., launched a new
automated ad system for auto dealers.

The new system, called Marketing Advisor, allows dealerships to expedite
production and placement of advertising and marketing campaigns electronically
into newspapers and other media, including the Web.

ADP Marketing Advisor is a turnkey system based on GMTI’s Celebro relational
database technology for managing inventory, advertising, promotion, and
electronic commerce.

The product lets dealers produce advertising and marketing campaigns
electronically through use of seamless links to a variety of media for
delivering ads to newspapers, photo magazines, broadcast organizations,
audiotext/faxback services, and Internet services.

Using ADP Marketing Advisor for print advertising, such as newspaper ads or
photo books, dealers can use customized ad templates, which allow automatic
flow of selected inventory into the existing ad, complete with photos and
graphics in place.

Optional features for Marketing Advisor include the ability for participating
media partners to link electronically with dealers to provide real-time order
entry, billing, and account status information.

GMTI also will market host server systems to media companies through its
MediaPartners program to selected businesses, including newspapers and
advertising agencies.

ADP Dealer Services Group provides turnkey solutions to more than 18,000 auto
and truck dealers throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, and
Latin
America. ADP Dealer Services Group is the third largest business unit of
Automatic Data Processing Inc.
