Employment site CareerMosaic in New York said it will
hold a series of online job fairs targeting major U.S. and international job
markets on Yahoo!
The job fairs, part of a multimillion dollar global advertising agreement
announced in November 1997, are the first of their kind for online recruiting
on Yahoo!, the company said.
The job fairs will be held on all Yahoo! Metro sites in 12 major U.S. markets,
on Yahoo!’s main site, and in native languages in locations around the world
where both Yahoo! and CareerMosaic have sites.
The fairs will be announced by banners on each Yahoo! Metro home page, and
featured on CareerMosaic’s home page as well as on various other pages
throughout Yahoo! and CareerMosaic.
The events, which began this week in Atlanta, will be held on a weekly and
biweekly basis through Oct. 31 in New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, Boston, San
Francisco, Seattle, Washington DC, Austin, Miami, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and
Chicago.
The international job fairs will be held in Australia, Canada,
France, Japan, United Kingdom/Ireland, and Asia.
Each job fair will feature participating employers, with their corporate logos
displayed, and offer job seekers a chance to win a prize valued at $3,500 by
entering a sweepstakes contest. Each corporate logo will take users to a page
with information on each company, job openings, and an online response form.
CareerMosaic offers more than 70,000 job listings from thousands of employers
around the world, descriptions of more than 400 corporations, online job
fairs, more than 50,000 resumes, research tools, and a special feature for
college students, with links to employers and other resources for those
entering the job market.
