CareerMosaic, an employment ad site,
formed a strategic alliance with Lycos to provide its users with access to
CareerMosaic’s jobs database.
CareerMosaic also announced four new alliances with other Web sites that
expand its reach both globally and within the specific market niches of
diversity employment, college and student job seekers, and company and
employer information.
The new co-branded alliance with Lycos, accessed through Lycos’ Careers Guide,
allows users to access CareerMosaic’s database of more than 70,000 jobs with
the new Radius Search feature to search for jobs within a given zip code
anywhere in the U.S. Also available are the “Resume Center,” where users can
post resumes for free and browse for resumes of qualified professionals, and
“Post a Job,” to post positions directly in the CareerMosaic database.
“This new alliance brings together CareerMosaic’s strength in online
employment with the powerful distribution and name recognition of Lycos, and
furthers our strategy of partnering with leading Web sites in order to extend
our reach globally,” said Bernard S. Hodes, president, CareerMosaic.
The other new co-branded sites announced by CareerMosaic are:
- NetNoir Online and The Black World Today, two Web sites dedicated
to African-American culture and experiences.
- CPNet, the College Press Network, an index of
online student newspapers.
- The DataBex Company Backgrounder, which
provides background information on more than 300,000 private and public
companies world-wide.
The new alliances bring CareerMosaic’s overall number of strategic online
partnerships to 35. Financial terms of the various arrangements were not
disclosed.
CareerMosaic also offers industry-specific sites, including HealthOpps, The Insurance Career Center, and Accounting & Finance Jobs. In
addition, the site has a co-branded home page with EE Times, for electrical
engineering jobs.
CareerMosaic was launched on the Web in 1994 by Bernard Hodes Advertising
Inc., a division of the Omnicom Group. The site claims over 42 million
requests per month and on average, over 350,000 job searches a day.
